Grassports Australia proudly use an array of Australian made specialised products and materials to complete the wide variety of synthetic sports playing surfaces required by our customers. We pride ourselves on using locally manufactured and 100% Australian made products as we believe it’s best to use products designed, developed and manufactured by those who understand the unique demands of our climate. Sourcing local also enables us to reduce our global carbon footprint through minimisation of transportation from manufacture to installation.
Grassports Australia can complete all subsurface, base works, surfacing, fencing and lighting components of your projects. We can also provide all accessories. Our customers don’t need to shop around, or be reliant on outside sub-contractors to enable their project to progress. We are the one stop shop.

Bernard commenced as a Grassports labourer in 1973 and has seen fabulous change in the construction and provision of world class sporting surfaces. Having been building sports facilities throughout Australia and internationally for over 50 years, Bernard is a fantastic and knowledgeable leader.
Scott is our internationally experienced Commercial & Finance executive who has worked alongside the leaders of some of Australia’s best known companies. His passion for developing people and searching for continuous improvement is helping drive Grassports towards the future.
Darren Scanlan
General Manager
Darren’s extensive experience spans over a 35-year period. Darren commenced as a subcontractor for Grassports back in 2005. In 2010 he joined the team as Project Manager and was promoted to General Manager in 2013. Darren is responsible for ensuring all projects run smoothly, overseeing OH&S, Quality Management and Human Resources.
Armand Klaassen
Operations Manager
Armand has completed his Master of Business Administration as well as a Degree in Construction Management. Armand started on ‘the tools’ at Grassports and knows how the company runs from the ground up. Armand is a critical thinker, problem solver, and is continually improving Grassports.
Tim Uren
Construction Manager
Tim is a qualified landscaper and civil contractor and has over 15 years industry experience. Tim leads our multiple crews of hard-working Foreman and construction workers to ensure every project is executed to the highest standard.
Ash Whitfield
Victorian Sales Manager
Ash joined the Grassports team in 2007 on ‘the tools’, and progress quickly into a leadership role. Ash is a driven and encouraging Sales Manager, leading our dynamic business development team. If you’re lucky enough to deal with Ash, you’ll know his attention to detail, and above and beyond mentality.

Sam has been a part of Grassports his entire life, having grown up in the family business but officially joining the team in 2017. Sam is an experienced Business Development Manager with a demonstrated history of working in the sports industry. Sam thrives on building excellent relationships with his clients.

John has a strong background in the education industry, having worked in playground installations for many years. John is a great asset to the Grassports team and has a fantastic work ethic and lovely nature. John’s clients are always kept in the loop and speak highly of every dealing with him.

Lloyd oversees the maintenance division at Grassports. With 15+ years of experience in the maintenance of synthetic sporting fields, Lloyd is passionate about customer service and ensuring every customer’s facility is presented as best it can be after a Grassports Maintenance visit.

Tracey is our skilled, friendly, and thorough accounts resource. She has outstanding organisation and communication skills. She is passionate about helping others and working closely with our suppliers and customers.

Administration & Marketing
Megan is the ‘director of first impressions’ at Grassports. Megan assists with the marketing activities of Grassports and provides exceptional administrative assistance to the sales and office teams. Megan’s personable nature makes you feel welcome, heard, and well-informed about all the services we provide.
Brenden Dawson
QLD Managing Director
Brenden began in the synthetic sports construction industry as a teenager and joined the Grassports team in 2016 to create the Queensland office. Over the last 25 years Brenden has developed extensive construction knowledge and a passion for synthetic sports innovation.
Jemima Dawson
QLD Financial Controller
Jemima manages the accounts and administration departments in the QLD office. She has a double degree in business and commerce and joined the Grassports team in 2018. Jemima enjoys working with the team to ensure everything runs smoothly with the projects, clients, and suppliers.
Adam Wallis
QLD Sales Manager/Head Estimator
Adam joined the synthetic sports industry back in 2011. Since then, he has proven himself to be a sales warrior with an impressive portfolio of award-winning projects. Adam is constantly searching for and developing new innovative ideas with clients and strives to always exceed expectations.
